Tasks

As an Accountant & Product Manager at Everest Systems, you will bridge the gap between accounting expertise and product innovation. While you may conduct the financial operations of our German entity as needed, your primary focus will be on shaping and enhancing Everest ERP to meet the needs of modern businesses in Germany and across the European Union. Your role will be pivotal in defining and prioritizing product requirements based on your deep understanding of local accounting standards, taxation laws, and financial reporting practices.

Your tasks will include:

• Acting as a Product Manager for Everest ERP by identifying, defining, and prioritizing necessary enhancements and changes in line with German and EU accounting requirements.
• Collaborating with development teams to ensure Everest ERP aligns with local financial regulations, including HGB (German GAAP), IFRS, and EU standards.
• Gathering feedback from internal and external stakeholders to improve product functionality for accounting and financial reporting needs.
• Support in executing accurate month-end and year-end closing activities
• Preparing financial statements and conducting tax filings for Everest Systems' German entity when required.
• Staying up to date on regulatory changes and ensuring that Everest ERP remains compliant with evolving German and EU financial regulations and IFRS standards
• Identify opportunities for efficiency in accounting processes and support the implementation of best practices in line with company policies and German accounting standards.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, to translate accounting needs into actionable technical requirements.

Requirements

• Educational Background: University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, Steuerberater) is highly preferred.
• Experience: Erfahrung als Buchhalter*in in einem deutschen oder europäischen Unternehmen. Fundierte Kenntnisse der deutschen Rechnungslegungsstandards (HGB), IFRS und EU-Finanzvorschriften. Erfahrung im Umgang mit ERP-Systemen, Finanztools und Softwarelösungen.
• Product Management Mindset: Ability to translate complex accounting requirements into business process and product specifications. Prior experience or a strong interest in product management or software development is a plus.
• Systems: Proficiency in accounting software commonly used throughout Germany and the EU.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of German taxation, EU financial practices and IFRS standards. Familiarity with VAT, corporate tax, and statutory declarations.
• Domain Interest: Enthusiasm for working with business, accounting, and financial software.
• Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Communication: Fluency in German and English, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Work Ethic: Reliable and meticulous approach to work, with a high degree of quality awareness and business acumen.
