Simris Biologics is a Berlin-based biologics company working to identify high value, natural, biologically active compounds found in microalgae and cyanobacteria for applications across biopharmaceutical products, skincare, nutrition and industry. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Simris Group AB, a company listed on the Swedish Nasdaq First North Growth Market.

Simris Biologics holds what we believe to be the largest library of cyanobacteria in the world, with 1,200 producer strains. We have already identified more than 5,000 novel natural products which show a range of activities eg. anti-cancer, anti-infectives and anti-fungal.

The business is currently focused on three operational areas:

  1. The identification and optimisation of cyanobacterial compounds to be licensed as novel payloads in Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) - the next generation of targeted cancer therapeutics in precision medicines.
  2. The manufacture and sale of cyanobacterial bio-reagents and analytical cyanotoxin standards to laboratories (global) tasked with monitoring public bodies of water for the presence of cyanobacterial toxins.
  3. Paid collaborative research with industrial partners to discover and develop novel active natural compounds for use in medicines, cosmetics, foods, agriculture and more.

Simris Biologics has developed a patent protected ADC Payload Platform which is a breakthrough in the Biopharma Industry, and is currently working to build a number of co-development strategic partner relationships culminating in securing a cooperation- and/or option- and licence agreement with a BioPharma Company in the next 12 months.

Tasks

This is a new role, Business and Office Manager to support the commercial development and revenue growth of the company with respect to business administrative management and customer facing activities including sales and dispatch of products.

Simris seeks to attract an experienced individual eager to work in an early-stage startup environment. Specifically, the right person will be confident that they can deliver & accelerate the growth of the company’s existing standards and reagents business with water quality testing laboratories in key markets including EU, USA, Middle East etc.

As the Business Administrator, you will build and manage customer relationships with a commercial, revenue-driven objectives. This role is best filled by a highly-motivated, ethical, sales-driven individual. Working closely alongside Simris CSO and the Simris Team, you will drive delivery of opportunities and revenue generation. This aspect of the role is clearly a customer-facing role, best suited to an ambitious early/mid-career biopharma sales professional with business admin experience looking to broaden their experiences within customer facing business.

This role in relation to the office manager activities is critical to the successful support of the Team and Business.

This colleague will be part of the Leadership Team and have an active contribution on helping to shape and grow the Company for its next phase of growth.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with the Leadership Team you will be responsible for researching prospective customers, mapping relevant target companies /customers /potential partners. Reviewing competitors, analysing market trends, and driving marketing activities.
  • Generate quantified leads from contacts as well as personal prospecting efforts (emails, cold calling, networking /social outreach e.g. LinkedIn and live events etc).
  • Be the first point of contact for all inbound leads, answering technical questions, developing and understanding the customer/partner business objectives.
  • Meet and exceed mutually-agreed monthly lead generation targets.
  • Provide accurate timelines and regular monthly reports for the Simris Board on key activities, new initiatives, performance milestone updates, and identification of new commercial targets.
  • Work closely with other members of the Simris Team to develop sales collateral based on applications and industries.
  • Business Administration activities according to typical business tasks on site e.g. managing generation of legal documents e.g. NDAs, support of budgeting and financial tracking processes.
  • Administration support of grant applications and in-house management and tracking.
  • Supporting engagement of diverse authorities to ensure compliance.
  • Customer facing activities e.g. communications, shipping activities including customs for international shipments. Facilities management.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Life Sciences (MSc) background with significant industrial commercial and business administrative experience (MBA) gained working in an SME space, in a business management/administrative role.

  • Keen attention to detail with an ability to work in a flexible, agile, accountable manner.

  • Fluency in German is desirable but not essential.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
