We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Physician specializing in Internal Medicine with a focus on Pulmonology to join a well-regarded hospital in the Leipzig region. Candidate Profile:

  • Possession of German medical licensure (Approbation) is mandatory.
  • Completed specialist training in Internal Medicine.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in pulmonology, including management of respiratory diseases.
  • Knowledge of intensive care medicine is highly desirable.
  • Strong reliability, accountability, and collegiality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis, and pleural conditions.
  • Management of thoracic oncology patients within a certified lung cancer center (DKG-certified).
  • Care for patients with sleep-related breathing disorders.
  • Active participation in the hospital’s certified weaning center, focusing on ventilator weaning protocols.
  • Application and monitoring of advanced ventilation techniques, both invasive and non-invasive.
  • Collaboration on the interdisciplinary intensive care unit, providing critical care support.
  • Performing bronchoscopies and other specialized pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
  • Participation in scheduled on-call and emergency duty shifts.
  • Close cooperation with other medical specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff and trainees.
  • Contribution to clinical research projects and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Administrative duties related to patient documentation and compliance with hospital protocols.
