About us: Global Computational Biology and Digital Sciences (gCBDS) @ Boehringer Ingelheim We are part of our Discovery Research area within our Innovation Unit. Through In Silico methods combined with disease biology we want to increase human disease insights. Our ultimate goal is to drive faster and improved decision making in order to identify impactful first-in-class therapies for our patients. As Data Domain Owner in healthcare data domains, you define, drive, and govern the data domain globally in a strategic, compliant, and sustainable manner.With your passion for data, you act as incubator driving the mindset change to data-centric thinking, uniting the overarching Boehringer Ingelheim data strategy, Data Domain Specific business strategy, and the needs of local, regional and global stakeholders.Discover our Biberach site:
Tasks & responsibilities In your new role, you promote the foundational value of different data domains with a focus on external population-scale healthcare datasets and biobanks. You drive bringing them to high quality, ensuring they are aligned with FAIR principles and easily consumable across Boehringer Ingelheim. You define the long-term vision & objectives globally for the Data Domain & translate them into specific short- and mid-term activities and milestones. With your expertise, you drive the operational governance of the data in the domain throughout the data lifecycle to leverage its full potential in business processes and data centric use cases and projects. You provide operational leadership for the data domain and set quality and performance standards. In this context, you manage stakeholders related to the data domain, give guidance, and provide expertise on maintaining data governance. You develop and maintain change management, effective communication, and training processes to ensure quality and compliance awareness among Data Stewards and Data Engineers working in the domain. Moreover, you participate actively in the global Boehringer Ingelheim Data Community and contribute to the company's data strategy by sharing challenges and success stories among your fellow data enthusiasts. You also determine the global data sourcing strategy and provider selection criteria and lead the provider management for process-related topics. Finally, you act as key contact for data consumers, Quality and Compliance managers as well as other relevant functions such as Regulatory Affairs, Data Strategy or Legal. Requirements Advanced degree (e.g. PhD) in Health Business, Health Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Medicine or Biology) or Computer Sciences and equivalent work experience Experience in Business Transformation / Digitalization and working in a healthcare environment is important Experience working with external healthcare data domains is desirable Expertise in different data domain and technology management relevant to data/platform governance, including information / content life-cycle management and release management Demonstrate an enticing passion for data to build the foundation for leveraging data full potential. Strong project and process management skills, as well as experience in change management and leading project teams Ability to negotiate and influence across a matrix & cross-functional organization Result-oriented working method with good judgment in evaluating benefits and risks Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English; further languages would be an asset Data Domain Specific compliance know-how such as GxP, GDPR, CCPA, IDMP, etc. is desirable EFFECTS OF COVID-19
