You’ll be the first in-house engineering leader at Every Health, taking our tech to the next level as we scale LGBTQ digital healthcare across Europe. This is a hands-on role: you will own our technical strategy, build a high-performing engineering team, and write production-ready code. Your leadership will shape a robust, scalable, and secure digital clinic that empowers our community.

Who we are

70% of queer people are unsatisfied with their access to adequate healthcare. 75 million LGBTQ people in Europe are up to 23x more likely to get sick, yet mostly lacks access to supportive care.

We are building the first digital healthcare provider for the LGBTQ community. Our small team of entrepreneurs and healthcare professionals is driven by a vision of equitable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare backed by renowned VCs.

Tasks

As our Lead Engineer (and tech employee #1), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction and development of our products. You will work directly with our founders on bringing the product vision to live with your engineering and product experience. You will:

• Own our technical strategy — Define our architecture going forward and ensure our platform scales securely and efficiently.
• Be hands-on in development – Write high-quality, maintainable code in TypeScript (React, MVC backend) and lead critical system improvements.
• Drive engineering best practices – Implement CI/CD, logging, monitoring, testing, and security standards.
• Recruit and lead a team – Hire, mentor, and build a high-performing team of engineers as we scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally – Work closely with our CEO, doctors, and operational partners to deliver world-class patient experiences.

Requirements

You’re excited to build something from the ground up and be part of a team that scales from 1,000 to 10,000 – and then 100,000+ – users. You don’t just want to write code; you want to shape the future of healthcare.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have 5+ years of experience in software/product engineering, ideally in a fast-growing startup.
• Bring technical leadership experience – leading small teams, making architectural decisions, and scaling infrastructure.
• Are hands-on with engineering – strong in TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL (AWS RDS), and AWS infrastructure.
• Love building scalable systems and improving logging, CI/CD, and testing to keep things running smoothly as we grow.
• Are skilled in integrating APIs, connecting systems, and managing sensitive data securely.
• Have a founder’s mindset – you take ownership, move fast, and balance speed with quality.
• Are fluent in English (German is a plus).
