About us: Global Computational Biology and Digital Sciences (gCBDS) @ Boehringer Ingelheim We are part of our Discovery Research area within our Innovation Unit. Through In Silico methods combined with disease biology we want to increase human disease insights. Our ultimate goal is to drive faster and improved decision making in order to identify impactful first-in-class therapies for our patients.As our Healthcare Data Officer, you are accountable for making healthcare data at scale analytically ready for Boehringer Ingelheim (BI). Your tasks contain track of data integration efforts with vendors, generating data and connecting internal clinical data. In addition, are in collaboration with Data- and Infrastructure Heads developing global and holistic strategies for data infrastructure, tools, apps, and licenses across BI.By leading the delivery of required data, you ensure the FAIRification of all data and collaborate with stakeholder groups at Boehringer Ingelheim.In your role you lead teams of Data integration experts, data cleansing- and data generation activities. Whilst building our setup you closely collaborate with key partners such as internal IT and genomics integrator vendor.You act as a role model when managing relevant teams within our group and manage the global portfolio of activities in partnership with other sites to deliver on the strategic intent for our group.Discover our Biberach site:
Tasks & responsibilities As Healthcare Data Officer you establish the strategic direction of a data infrastructure including the definition of strategic priorities, goals and deliveries. By cooperating with strategic partners, you achieve data interoperability and the development of a new (FAIR) data culture. In your new role you are responsible for the establishment of an end-to-end data process for external population scale datasets, including the seamless access for analytics purpose. By collaborating with other Data and Infrastructure Heads across our Global organization you ensure an adequate alignment between sites and an efficient ready-for-use infrastructure. You act as key ambassador within the global group and represent our department in different committees to align with stakeholders. Whilst supporting the hiring of key staff you are also accountable for recruiting and managing CRO / contractors to outsource key activities. You also proactively build, enable, cleanse and share human data from external biobanks and make it transparent to colleagues in the global department. Requirements PhD in Computer Science, Software / Hardware engineering, Information Management or a similar field with longtime industrial experience in project / program management in multidisciplinary environments Extensive expertise in Research & Development project work, including in a role as project / team leader with several team members Proven experience in developing R&D data strategies as well as in implementing and managing enterprise programs around data management and governance Cutting edge knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues Experience with handling data at large scale is a must EFFECTS OF COVID-19
