About Us: At VION AI, we're revolutionizing the aviation industry with cutting-edge computer vision technology that reduces painstaking human labor and elevates customer experiences. Our mission is to optimize aircraft turnarounds through real-time, high-precision AI that analyzes processes at the aircraft door. We’re a small, agile team with ambitious goals, and we’re looking for a technical co-founder to join us in driving our vision forward.

Your Role: As a technical co-founder, you will be at the heart of shaping our product, architecture, and technical strategy. You will lead the development of our advanced computer vision models deployed on embedded systems and work on solving some of the toughest, unsolved challenges. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for technical leadership and innovation, ready to take ownership and be a driving force in the company’s success.

Tasks

• Lead the tech vision: Define and execute the technical roadmap, ensuring we stay ahead of industry trends and deliver breakthrough technology to our clients.
• Develop & deploy advanced models: Create, fine-tune, and deploy state-of-the-art Python-based models for detection and multi-object tracking on edge devices. Ensure the highest levels of accuracy and performance.
• Oversee data strategy: Manage the entire data pipeline, including collection, preprocessing, and annotation, to ensure high-quality data for model development.
• Tackle hard, unsolved problems: We are pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible in computer vision on edge devices. Our accuracy requirements are very high, and you will be leading the efforts to reach them.
• Research and innovate: Shape the product and company strategy by researching new ideas and bringing your innovation power to the table.
• Build and lead the team: Assemble and lead a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Contribute to strategy & growth: As a late co-founder, you’ll be instrumental in driving company strategy, product development, and scaling our business.

Requirements

• Ability to thrive in a founder-level role, taking initiative and ownership of major technical decisions
• Several years of machine learning and computer vision experience
• Several years of Python development experience
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environment or similar
• Demonstrated leadership experience both technically and strategically
• Enthusiasm about the Aviation industry (nice to have)
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Eligibility to work in Europe
