Job Description

As a Lead Backend Engineer for Fraud team with a focus on white-label capabilities, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure, APIs, and services to support our fraud prevention and detection initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly built team, where you will have the chance to be autonomous and creative in shaping our fraud prevention strategy and implementing innovative white-label solutions.


What you can expect

  • Best path for white label capabilities: Design and implement scalable and efficient backend systems, considering the specific needs of white-label capabilities for fraud prevention across different markets
  • Challenge status quo: Delve into existing fraud systems, understanding their architecture, data flow, and functionality. Identify potential integration points and challenges to enable seamless migration to white-label capabilities.
  • API Development: Build RESTful APIs and implement data validation and authentication mechanisms for secure communication, ensuring efficient integration between frontend and backend systems.
  • Optimization and Scalability: Optimise backend components for performance, scalability, and security, while also considering the flexibility and extensibility required for white-label configurations.
  • Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback for the team members, and ensure coding best practices are followed, with a specific focus on maintaining quality standards.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Fraud Analysts to integrate their algorithms and models into the backend systems, ensuring seamless data flow and frontend integration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor the performance of backend systems and APIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

About you

  • Several years of experience in object oriented programming and design patterns.
  • The ability to mentor and guide the team of engineers to new heights by designing and releasing high quality products on our platforms across Europe to reach our ambitious goals.
  • Experience in designing microservices and API security.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze complex systems understanding their architecture, and identifying migration strategies to incorporate white-label capabilities.
  • A driving force behind high impact business/customer/architecture improvements, and to do so, deeply understands the product served by the technology.
  • An ambassador mindset, inside and outside of the team, for an outcome-driven culture, and is a role model for technical excellence.
  • Excellence in documenting backend architecture, design decisions, and implementation details to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across the team.
