ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a tech-savvy privacy lawyer to join Talon.One as part of our Legal Department. You will be collaborating with various departments across the business, from RnD, Marketing and Sales. Reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel, this position offers a unique opportunity to help shape our in-house legal function and make a significant impact in supporting Talon.One's mission.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

We are currently looking for 2 new people to join our Legal team. We manage and own all legal aspects of our 4 entities worldwide. As such, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape your role within our company and drive initiatives to help the team and Talon.One.

We are operating in a hybrid model and work closely with our stakeholders face-to-face, which makes it crucial for our new Legal Counsel to be based in Berlin.

ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL:

  • Lead and strengthen the legal privacy program, ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Develop, maintain, and align InfoSec policies, procedures, and data protection frameworks with InfoSec certifications, including updating and implementing new Technical and Organizational Measures (TOMs)
  • Serve as a key legal advisor on marketing, product development (including AI), and other strategic initiatives, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and directly negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers and external DPOs
  • Oversee data retention policies, conduct data protection audits and transfer impact assessments, ensuring IT systems' compliance with privacy and security requirements
  • Monitor evolving legal and regulatory landscapes, leading legal operations initiatives to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement across the legal function

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • You are qualified to work as a lawyer in EuropeYou have 4-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in privacy and technology matters, experience in an in-house role and/or start-up environment is a plus
  • You have proven understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • You have experience managing ROPAs/DPIAs/InfoSec Certification Processes
  • You can work autonomously while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsYou are a fast learner and thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid environment, managing multiple matters simultaneously
  • You can communicate complex legal advice effectively and provide practical solutions with internal and external stakeholders
  • You are eager to upskill in new areas of law and legal practice
  • You are fluent in English, German is a plus
