Tasks & responsibilities As a medicinal chemist, you collaborate with human pharma project teams to identify candidates for Proof of Concept studies in the target animal species. As the NCE (New Chemical Entities) lead within multidisciplinary global project teams, you demonstrate leadership by selecting and advancing the best compounds in an expeditious manner. Furthermore, you closely collaborate and network efficiently within the global Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health and Human Pharma community and with external partners. In your new role, you supervise scientists internally and effectively manage internal and external resources. You effectively discuss, present and publish research results internally and externally. Requirements PhD in life science (e.g. organic chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, molecular sciences) with a profound knowledge of medicinal chemistry Several years of experience in NCE drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry, the animal health sector or in crop protection Dedication and enthusiasm for solving scientific problems Excellent cross-functional management and communication skills Intercultural competencies gained through working experience abroad or through working expertise in highly diverse settings is an advantage Proficient oral and written communication skills in English as well as willingness to adopt a basic command of the German language EFFECTS OF COVID-19
