The TRR259 “Aortic Disease” of Prof. Dr. Georg Nickenig at the Medizinische Klinik und Poliklinik II at the University Hospital Bonn invites applications for 4 part-time (65%; 26 h/week) positions as

PhD candidates (m/f/d)

The positions are limited to three years due to connection to a third-party funded project with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Commitment to research on Aortic Disease in the labs of the TRR259
  • A written dissertation focusing on the research performed during the employment period
  • Compulsory participation in the Research Training Group’s structured doctoral programme (including symposia, workshops, lectures, and seminars) and all events of the Research Training Group
  • Ihr Profil

  • Diploma or master´s degree in a life-science-related discipline, such as molecular biomedicine, physiology, immunology, biochemistry or cell biology
  • Highly motivated with a strong interest in cardiovascular disease
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, communication skills, and interdisciplinary thinking are essential
  • Team-orientation
  • Previous experience working with in vivo experimental models, flow cytometry, small animal models or gene sequencing is advantageous
