We offer a cloud solution that enables companies to analyze, manage & reduce their carbon footprint. We measure our success in reducing greenhouse gas emissions of our customers with complex supply chains.

Your Role - We are looking for a Finance & Accounting expert to take ownership of the entire finance management structure at Carbmee. You will work closely with different internal and external stakeholders and be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations, including everything from budgeting to accounting to reporting to due diligence.

Tasks

  • Finance Management - Oversee all financial day-to-day operations, including monthly accounting, invoicing system, financial statements, P&L creation, payments, and cash flow management
  • Budgeting and Forecasting - Maintain the existing rolling budget and forecast, perform financial analysis, and extract actionable insights to support our Co-founders and the Management team in decision-making with accurate data
  • Financial Reporting - Prepare the annual budget, own internal finance & performance reporting processes, and maintain investor-facing financial models to ensure Carbmee's financial stability and success
  • Strategic Projects - Perform ad hoc strategic projects and analyses, support the execution of fundraising, and provide general financial information requests for investors and internal stakeholders
  • Continuous Improvement - Improve, expand, and scale all existing financial processes in alignment with the company’s growth strategy
  • Collaboration - Communicate with external tax advisors and tax consultants and ensure a smooth cross-functional collaboration with all departments, including Operations, Revenue, and the entire Management team

Requirements

  • Extensive and successful experience working in a finance, controlling, and accounting role
  • Ideally, you come from the SaaS b2b startup, consulting, private equity, or investment banking environment
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • Solid accounting and controlling knowledge combined with a deep understanding of the strategic financial levers that drive a SaaS tech business
  • Experience in building and managing financial models, forecasts, cash flow, and budgets
  • You work hands-on and independently on all finance, accounting, and controlling topics
  • You love numbers and master MS Excel and Google Office Environment like a pro
  • Experience in using accounting, bookkeeping, and spend-management software - we use DATEV and Spendesk
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English skills are required, German language knowledge is a strong plus
  • You have what it takes to thrive, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced and rapidly changing start-up environment
  • Your analytical mindset gives you the ability to interpret and gain actionable insights over financial data and metrics and explain them to non-financial stakeholders
  • You are a supportive team player, with a proactive approach and a self-driven work attitude who enjoys working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
