A well-established hospital in the Leipzig region invites applications for a Specialist Physician (m/w/d) to join their team immediately. This position offers a direct employment contract with the hospital. Your Profile:

• You hold a valid German medical license (Approbation).
• You are a specialist in microbiology, virology, and infection epidemiology.
• You have extensive experience in microbiological and hygiene laboratory diagnostics, including mycobacteriology.
• You possess in-depth knowledge of clinical laboratory workflows.
• Ideally, you have practical experience in clinical microbiology.
• You demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
• You are proficient with laboratory IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• You are willing to participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call duties.

Your Responsibilities:

• Contributing to the clinical microbiology and hospital hygiene departments, including participation in quarantine teams.
• Providing microbiological support during weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts.
• Active involvement in the Antibiotic Stewardship (ABS) team.
• Conducting hygiene inspections and specialized diagnostic procedures.
• Organizing and delivering educational sessions such as practical year courses, tropical medicine courses, and hygiene training events.
• Participating in clinical research projects in collaboration with hospital departments.
• Supervising doctoral candidates and visiting medical professionals.
