The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of 6 months. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. You will work 20 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 15 Euro per hour.

Welthungerhilfe’s Innovation Unit supports changemakers with innovative ideas for Zero Hunger, helping turn them into impactful solutions through agile methodologies and social business approaches. The team is also responsible for managing the Seeding the Future Global Food Systems Challenge (GFSC).Our work is continuously expanding, and we collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners, including Welthungerhilfe teams, local NGO partners, start-ups, and social businesses. As a globally distributed team, we work largely virtually and place strong emphasis on communication, collaboration, and creative exchange. This includes organizing and facilitating virtual (and occasional in-person) events, supporting communication and PR activities, fundraising initiatives, and project management processes.

As a Student Assistant, you will support the team flexibly, especially in creative and communication-related tasks. We are looking for a student who enjoys designing visuals, likes interacting with people, and feels comfortable supporting events, workshops, and exchanges with partners. You are encouraged to bring your creativity, energy, and ideas into the team.

Your responsibilities

  • Draft and design presentations, communication materials, web-content etc.
  • Prepare and document meetings and conferences
  • Support our internal knowledge management, e.g. the filing system and indicator tracking
  • Support in project reporting for institutional donors and other contributors
  • Join the support work for our innovation unit clients
  • Support all administrative processes and fulfil general research tasks

Your profile

  • You are currently enrolled as a student in any field that can relate to the fight for Zero Hunger.
  • Previous work experience in the field of PR or communication is a strong asset.
  • You are ready and motivated to work in a highly international and dynamic team.
  • You know how to prepare good power-point presentations and are experienced with digital communication tools such as MS Teams.
  • Organizational skills, curiosity and strong communication skills characterize you.
  • You are committed, reliable and able to work independently.
  • English comes natural to you, both spoken and written; German or French language skills would be an advantage.
