The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. You will work 20 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 15 Euro per hour.

The Institutional Donor Relations Unit at Welthungerhilfe maintains relationships with institutional donors, supports internal knowledge management, and advises our country offices on the review of project proposals, contracts, and donor reports. As a working student, you will support your colleagues in their daily work, with a primary focus on collaboration with our BMZ team. In doing so, you will gain comprehensive insight into the organization’s activities and become familiar with the various fields of work within an international development cooperation organization.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the BMZ team, in particular in reviewing financial reports and all relevant documentation (such as lists of receipts, external audit reports, and inventories)
  • Reconciling financial reports with project accounting
  • Communicating with the respective country offices, especially during the review process
  • Assisting in the preparation of external audits
  • Maintaining and entering data in the Bengo online portal
  • Maintaining relevant tables and overviews (Excel)
  • General tasks in financial administration

Your profile

  • You are currently enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences
  • You have experience working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office 365
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial experience in financial administration
  • You demonstrate a high level of organizational accuracy and an affinity for numbers
  • You enjoy working in an international environment
  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken, and good English skills
