About Us

Revent is a Berlin-headquartered venture capital firm backing ambitious founders to address critical gaps in planetary and societal health. We are the earliest partners to Europe’s emerging generation of mission-driven champions, who are harnessing technology to drive positive impact in climate, health, and economic empowerment.

We’re currently investing out of a €60M seed fund and in the process of launching our next fund. As we scale, we’re looking to hire a VP / Director of Finance to help set the firm up for long-term success. In this role, your insights and execution will have a direct impact on Revent’s trajectory, shaping the firm’s financial success and driving investments that tackle society’s most pressing challenges. You will lead key functions in accounting, compliance, and reporting, optimize fund administration into a well-oiled machine, generate insights from our portfolio’s financial KPIs, and support the closing process for new rounds.

What We Offer

At Revent, you’ll benefit from a steep learning curve, transparent feedback, the freedom to incorporate your ideas, a competitive compensation package, and the opportunity to play a central role in shaping both the fund and our portfolio.

Tasks

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re seeking a highly organized, proactive self-starter who shares our unwavering commitment to achieving exceptional success. In this core role, you’ll work closely together with Revent’s General Partners and play a crucial part in driving the firm’s key operational functions. Specifically, some of the things you’ll be doing include:

Finance and Accounting:

  • Strategic liquidity planning & budgeting
  • Steering drawdowns, divestments, and transactions
  • Overseeing internal accounting for our funds and the fund manager
  • Leading reserve planning and portfolio modeling
  • Managing the carried interest pool and advisor incentivization
  • Driving performance benchmarking across portfolio KPIs
  • Taking ownership of fund financial metrics
  • Serving as the key liaison for external advisors (tax, legal, accounting) and addressing tax/finance queries from LPs

Reporting and Compliance

  • Leading the quarterly reporting process
  • Staying ahead of new regulations and market developments
  • Collaborating with our tax advisor to ensure full compliance with audits, financial statements, management reports, tax reporting, KYC/AML regulations, and other central bank and BaFin requirements
  • Overseeing compliance across key areas like new investments, fund investor onboarding, and internal hiring
  • Supporting ongoing risk management tasks tied to new investments and fund investors

Investments

  • Providing financial and legal support during the closing process for new portfolio companies
  • Coordinating all legal and due diligence documentation for portfolio companies

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Specifically, the ideal candidate will have the following attributes and previous experience:

  • At least 3 years of directly relevant experience, e.g. working at one of the “Big 4” accounting firms or in the accounting and finance department of a fast-paced company in the DACH region. As a result, we would expect you to possess:
  • A strong grasp of German accounting standards and processes, including familiarity with common taxation issues
  • Experience in preparation of quarterly and annual financial accounts
  • Experience with preparing and updating budgets and creating monthly budget reports
  • The ability to quickly understand and act on complex topics, including compliance with legal and reporting requirements as outlined in side letter agreements
  • Extremely well-organized and process-driven, with the ability to manage effectively toward hard deadlines and to push forward a number of ongoing projects simultaneously

  • Strong prioritization skills, and the ability to quickly understand which items are most important/pressing and to act accordingly
  • An overall “can-do” attitude and pride in the precision and quality of your work
