Greenfield is a European crypto investment firm. We are long-term backers of early developer teams building toward an open, decentralized, and more robust architecture of tomorrow’s web. Greenfield has flat hierarchies; you will have touchpoints with every aspect of the investment firm and significant growth potential. You are a crucial part of our Tech team (4 people) directly reporting to our CTO who is also part of the Partner team. Your role will be at the heart of our infrastructure operations with a focus on blockchain validator operations and cloud infrastructure management. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our validator infrastructure and cloud operations. The role offers relevant growth opportunities to advance into a DevOps Engineer position after finishing university.

Tasks

• Deploy, monitor, and manage blockchain validators across multiple projects
• Serve as a key liaison between blockchain communities and our organization, with primary responsibilities including: deploying and maintaining open-source blockchain nodes in our cloud infrastructure while ensuring continuous technical communication with project communities for updates, upgrades, and operational support
• Design and maintain infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to infrastructure incidents and ensure uptime of critical systems

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• First experience in DevOps or a similar role
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Terraform for managing infrastructure
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g. GitLab CI)
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, load balancers, and monitoring tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cosmos SDK, Tendermint/CometBFT and Ethereum node operations
• Touchpoints in running and maintaining blockchain validators or other high-availability distributed systems
• Knowledge of blockchain consensus mechanisms and validator economics
• Knowledge of smart contracts and Web3 technologies is a big plus
